Intervention Central

Intervention Central provides teachers, schools and districts with free resources to help struggling learners and implement Response to Intervention.

The Lexile Framework for Reading

Common Core ELA standards cited Lexile measures as key indicators of text complexity and provide Lexile grade bands for reading development to ensure students are on track for college and career text demands.

What Works Clearinghouse

The goal of the WWC is to be a resource for informed education decision making.  To reach this goal, the WWC identifies studies that provide credible and reliable evidence of the effectiveness of a given practice, program or policy (referred to as "interventions"), and disseminates summary information and reports on the WWC website.  With over 700 publications available and more than 10,000 reviewed studies in the online searchable database, the WWC aims to inform researchers, educators and policymakers as they work toward improving education for students.

AIMS Education Foundation

 AIMS is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping teachers give students a solid conceptual understanding of math and science.

LD Online

LD Online is the world's leading website on learning disabilities and ADHD.  It seeks to help children and adults reach their full potential by providing accurate and up-to-date information and advice about learning disabilities and ADHD.

American Institutes for Research

The AIR is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization that conducts behavioral and social science research and delivers technical assistance in the area of health, education and workforce productivity.  AIR is a national leader in teaching and learning improvement, providing research, assessment, evaluation and technical assistance to ensure that all students - particularly those facing historical disadvantage - have access to a high-quality, effective education.  The site has many publications available in the areas of data use, educator quality, mathematics and science, literacy and professional development, among others.

MiddleWeb

MiddleWeb is all about middle school and the middle grades - with a sharp focus on teaching and learning in grades 4-8.  They provide resources for teachers, school leaders, parents and others interested in the success of young adolescents.

National Association of Agriculture Educators

NAAE is a federation of state agricultural educators associations with more than 7,800 members. Our members are involved in school-based agricultural education at any level, from middle school through post-secondary, and state and national agricultural education leaders.  We advocate for agricultural education, provide professional development for agricultural educators, and work to recruit and retain agricultural educators in the profession. We offer a variety of programs and services to support this three-pronged mission.

Indiana Young Farmers Association

We have heard time and again from our members that their Young Farmer experience has enhanced their personal and professional lives through additional leadership exposure at all levels of the organization. Being engaged at the local, state and /or national level has enabled our members to strengthen their leadership and organizational skills as well as reinforce their networking ability with other agriculturalists. Members are recognized through our awards program for their efforts in chapter activities and their work as a professional in the agriculture industry.

The Indiana FFA is dynamic youth organization that provides young people with challenging opportunities to excel and develop. The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of young people by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.

Indiana Business Professionals of America

Business Professionals of America is the leading CTSO (Career Technical Student Organization) for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology and other related career fields. Indiana BPA has close to 2,700 members in over 90 chapters.  BPA is a "co-curricular" organization that supports business and information technology educators by offering curriculum based on national standards.

Marketing Educators Association

MEA is the premiere international organization for faculty development of the marketing professoriate. The organization’s mission is to provide worldwide leadership in promoting the development and sharing of scholarship that enhances marketing education and advances marketing knowledge and practice.

International Literacy Association

ILA (formerly International Reading Organization) is a global advocacy organization, and literacy is our cause, our passion, and our reason for being.  We publish cutting-edge research on literacy, and we translate this research into practical resources for educators, students, and leaders involved in spreading literacy all across the world. Purdue University On-line Writing Lab (OWL)

The Purdue University Writing Lab and Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL) assist clients in their development as writers—no matter what their skill level—with on-campus consultations, online participation, and community engagement. The Purdue Writing Lab serves the Purdue, West Lafayette, campus and coordinates with local literacy initiatives. The Purdue OWL offers global support through online reference materials and services.

American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences

For more than 100 years, the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) has provided leadership and support to professionals whose work assists individuals, families, and communities in making informed decisions about their well being, relationships, and resources to achieve optimal quality of life.  AAFCS is the only professional association for family and consumer sciences (FCS) students and professionals from both multiple practice settings and content areas. Our members are educators, administrators and managers, human service and business professionals, researchers, community volunteers, and consultants. They provide research-based knowledge about the topics of everyday life, including human development, personal and family finance, housing and interior design, food science, nutrition and wellness, textiles and apparel, and consumer issues.

National FCCLA

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization for young men and women in Family and Consumer Sciences education in public and private school through grade 12. Everyone is part of a family, and FCCLA is the only national Career and Technical Student Organization with the family as its central focus. Since 1945, FCCLA members have been making a difference in their families, careers, and communities by addressing important personal, work, and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences education.

Indiana Council of Teachers of Mathematics

The Indiana Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM) is a statewide organization concerned with and working for the interests of mathematics educators and mathematics education. The membership including the ICTM Board of Directors, includes teachers from all levels and from all parts of the state. The activities of the council are many and varied, as are the benefits to be derived from membership and participation.

National Council of Teachers of Mathematics

Founded in 1920, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) is the world’s largest mathematics education organization, with 80,000 members and more than 230 Affiliates throughout the United States and Canada.  The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is the public voice of mathematics education, supporting teachers to ensure equitable mathematics learning of the highest quality for all students through vision, leadership, professional development, and research.

Music

Indiana Academic Standards:  Music

Indiana Music Educators Association

Indiana Music Education Association (IMEA) is a not-for-profit professional membership organization for music teachers, kindergarten through collegiate levels. Membership is currently around 1100 active teachers, with approximately 100 retired members, and 700 collegiate members (who are music education majors). IMEA provides professional development opportunities for music teachers, as well as extracurricular performance and learning opportunities for Indiana music students.

National Association of Music Education

National Association for Music Education (NAfME), among the world’s largest arts education organizations, is the only association that addresses all aspects of music education. NAfME advocates at the local, state, and national levels; provides resources for teachers, parents, and administrators; hosts professional development events; and offers a variety of opportunities for students and teachers. The Association orchestrates success for millions of students nationwide and has supported music educators at all teaching levels for more than a century.  Since 1907, NAfME has worked to ensure that every student has access to a well-balanced, comprehensive, and high-quality program of music instruction taught by qualified teachers. NAfME’s activities and resources have been largely responsible for the establishment of music education as a profession, for the promotion and guidance of music study as an integral part of the school curriculum, and for the development of the National Standards for Arts Education.

ACDA is a non-profit music organization composed of over 18,000 choral musicians representing schools, colleges and universities, industry and institutional organizations, houses of worship, and community and professional choirs. The mission of the American Choral Directors Association is to inspire excellence in choral music through education, performance, composition, and advocacy.

Founded in 1959, the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) is a nonprofit music-education organization whose expressed purposes outline the associations dedication to the advancement of choral music.  The mission of ACDA is to inspire excellence in choral music through education, performance,composition, and advocacy.

Indiana State School Music Association

The Indiana State School Music Association, Inc. provides educationally evaluated music performance activities for the students and teachers of the State of Indiana, assists in the development of performance oriented assessment of state and national musical academic standards, and offers educational support to fulfill its mission.

American School Band Directors Association

ASBDA is the ONLY national music organization dedicated exclusively to the prosperity of the concert band programs in the various middle and high schools across America.

The Indiana Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (IAHPERD) is a professional education association for teachers, administrators, researchers, coaches, students and other allied professionals who are actively engaged in and dedicated to the promotion of quality health, physical education, recreation, dance, sport and allied programming in public and private schools, colleges and universities, and community agencies throughout the state of Indiana.

Hoosier Association of Science Teachers

The purpose of HASTI is the advancement, stimulation, extension, improvement, and coordination of science education in all fields of science at all educational levels.

National Science Teachers Association

The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), founded in 1944 and headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, is the largest organization in the world committed to promoting excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning for all. NSTA's current membership of 55,000 includes science teachers, science supervisors, administrators, scientists, business and industry representatives, and others involved in and committed to science education. 

National Association of Biology Teachers

The National Association of Biology Teachers (NABT) is the “leader in life science education.” Since its inception in 1938, thousands of educators have joined NABT to share experiences and expertise with colleagues from around the world, keep up with trends and developments in the field, and grow professionally.

American Association of Physics Teachers

AAPT is a professional membership association of scientists dedicated to enhancing the understanding and appreciation of physics through teaching.

American Meteorological Society

The American Meteorological Society promotes the development and dissemination of information and education on the atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic sciences and the advancement of their professional applications. Founded in 1919, AMS has a membership of more than 14,000 professionals, students, and weather enthusiasts. AMS publishes eleven atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic journals — in print and online — sponsors more than 12 conferences annually, and offers numerous programs and services.

American Institute of Physics

AIP offers authoritative information, services, and expertise in physics education and student programs, science communication, government relations, career services for science and engineering professionals, statistical research in physics employment and education, industrial outreach, and the history of physics and allied fields. AIP also publishes the flagship magazine Physics Today and is home to the Society of Physics Students and the Niels Bohr Library and Archives. AIP owns AIP Publishing LLC, a scholarly publisher in the physical and related sciences.

ScienceNews is the magazine for The Society for Science & the Public, a nonprofit 501(c) (3) membership organization dedicated to public engagement in scientific research and education. The Biology Project

The Biology Project is an interactive online resource for learning biology developed at The University of Arizona. The Biology Project is fun, richly illustrated, and tested on 1000s of students. It has been designed for biology students at the college level, but is useful for high school students, medical students, physicians, science writers, and all types of interested people.
